Girls Weekend at Casa de Aman

First of all, a BIG thank you to Natalie & Jenny for the advice on uploading pictures. Man, what a difference!

A few of my favorite ladies from Denver and I decided we needed a girls weekend and I mentioned my parents had a pool, outdoor living room, and a fully stocked bar. Before I knew it we had plane tickets purchased to head to Houston for the long Labor Day weekend. How GREAT are they that they even wanted to go to Houston during one of the hottest summers on record. They ROCK and I'm blessed to know them.

We are off....

We made it into Houston around 11pm on Thursday night, September 1. Then on Friday Rossi, Susan and I got up and ran 8 miles. We are training for a 1/2 marathon, so we had to get our long run in before the weekend officially began. Then we took off for lake Sommerville for the day with my family and Sheffield.

Did I rub it all in?

We were the only ones there. It was awesome.

I'm sure my mom will hate that I posted this picture of her, but it's the only one we took of the two of us all weekend. I love her so much. She is an amazing woman!

Friday night we hung out at my parents house with a yummy, yummy, steak & salmon dinner. It was awesome! Then on Saturday we slept in, went on a quick shopping trip to Stein Mart (my mom had coupons!) and then we got ready and were off to Sheffield's place for a night out in Houston! I got to see my dear friend, Jacky, that I've known since 2nd grade. She is pregeant with twin girls! I'm so, so, so excited for her & Peter. Then we met up with one of my favorite guy friends, William, from Baylor. The pictures will show how much fun the night was for us!

Love these girls. Forever friends.
Sheffield's good friend, Lea, joined us. She is awesome.
This was for 3 people?!?!!? 7 girls and we still had leftovers....
The last picture at dinner and before the shenanigans...

YOTF...and it begins shortly after this picture. (Sorry I can't tell you what YOTF stands for in this blog out of respect of the people involved...you're welcome!)
 I love you William!

Susan with William's friends...Michael & Scotty from Scotland.

Oh the Bachelorette Party...so not into the big penis thing...really ladies!?!? Obviously my dear friend Susan feels differently...

Then on Sunday we met up with Michael & William for some brunch

Cool table...but really didn't dig the huge pillar right in the middle...
Then it was back to mom & dad's house for a much needed nap and pool time.

Dad taking Susan for a spin on his moped...Susan I think wants one now

All weekend Susan kept saying that my parents backyard was a perfect place for a luau, so her and my brother made it happen on the last night we were there. I'm so sad Mia missed it. She had to fly back a day early becuase she didn't have any more vacation time. :(

It was hilarious!!!

Oh it was so fun and funny! Thanks to Susan and my brother for the fun luau party. If anything we have some funny pictures. Though I would prefer not to share these pictures because I look terrible, they are to fun not to share! I can honestly say it's the first Luau we have ever had at Casa de Aman.

Our last morning there my parents neighbor, Irma, came over to see me. She is a sweet lady that I've known for 22 years. Here are some pictures before we took off to the airport.

Though you might think our vacation was over...it wasn't! We got back to Denver and met back up with Mia and headed to the Zac Brown Band at Red Rocks! What a fun way to end our girls weekend. Love you ladies. Thanks for coming back to Houston with me. It was fun sharing all my childhood memories and stories with each of you. My mom and dad would LOVE to have you girls back any time. And next time...Alicia you are going with us!!!
